Fall Festivities & Recipes

Natalie Morello

Hello everyone, fall is really starting to set in here, in Rhode Island! Chilly mornings with sunny warm afternoons, the perfect season to experiment with new date night ideas! What better way to spend a sunny Saturday morning then headed to your favorite local pumpkin patch, or apple orchard with your significant other. Once you've collected your bounty its time to experiment and bring out your inner Julia Child. There are so many ways to satisfy your sweet tooth with apples, homemade apple pie and we can't forget apple crisp and caramel dipped apples, nothing screams fall quite like those! For those who prefer something more on the savory side, try pairing apple slices with a pork tenderloin and some root vegetables in a crock pot. Its sure to become a new Sunday dinner favorite, check out the recipe linked below in the gallery.

Don't forget about the lovely gourd, Mr. Pumpkin, just like apples the versatility is endless. Both sweet and savory possibilities, there's always the famous crowd pleasers like spiced pumpkin muffins and seasoned pumpkin seeds. When your feeling adventurous, go for a creamy pumpkin pasta or a hearty pumpkin chili, all linked in the gallery below.

Date night is always important, and in the fall there are many perfect opportunities to take on the afternoon or evening with your honey. Take a trip to a local farmers market and try to snag a hay ride or take stroll through a corn-maze. As the night cools down, swallow your fears and take on a trip through a haunted house or gather your friends and head to the beach for a blazing bond fire and ghost stories. Tis the season for laughs and comfort foods that warm you from the inside out!
