Men’s fashion week 2015 has just started and we already have so much to say! Each day we see more collections go down the runway and we have tons of mixed feelings.
First of all, I am in love with the Missoni collection. It was structured and rich showing an amazing mixture of prints and luscious colors. And let’s not forget those gorgeous scarves that I want to be wrapped up in.
Vivienne Westwood was outrageous as well. These prints were crazy and we loved every second of it. I loved the exaggerated collars and cuffs and the upside-down pockets. And if you thought you were seeing women walk down the runway, you were definitely right! She dressed women in men’s tailored suits and some of the men sported knits with a little bit of a feminine look. Unisex is in!
On the flipped side I was highly disappointed in the Gucci collection. Granted, Frida Giannini left the company earlier than expected and every single detail of the entire collection she had planned was replaced in just 5 days and honestly, you can tell. I felt that there was poor styling and fit, and it was a little bit misguided. I don’t understand the sleeve and blouse lengths either. And i really didn't understand the silk bow tops and the lace tops. I did like the coats though.
Lastly, the Etro show. It was full of tone on tone browns and khaki’s with a touch of purple, yellow and red with paisley print tops. I wasn’t absolutely crazy about this collection either though, especially compared to the past.
There’s still a ton of shows to come though. But one last thing I’ve noticed on all of the runway shows- how skinny the male models are! When did this happen?! Their face and bodies look like skeletons. Man-orexic is not a good look should not be in!
